For Artists: Feature your artwork at Section 158 Gallery. We are currently accepting submissions for our second exhibition - “PRIDE: Through Artist Eyes”

It has been a dream to have a space showcasing queer art in Metro Detroit -- this spring it has become a reality. Section 158 Art Gallery opened March 18, 2023 in the newly renovated and highly trafficked lounge space at Pronto! in downtown Royal Oak. In this beautiful new space we will be able to have our artwork not only seen but experienced and sold.

Section 158 Art Gallery will curate 2d and 3d artworks of all sizes that can be displayed hanging on a gallery wall. In general artworks will be displayed for 4-6 weeks alongside other talented local queer and allied artists. As Section 158 grows and develops we will have themed curations, as well as, individual artist expositions.

As the artist you have no upfront costs if selected to be part of the exhibition. Leading up to and during the showing Section 158 Art Gallery will promote you and your artwork through events and media platforms at no cost. When your artwork sells you will earn the majority of the sale price with a smaller agreed upon commission going to the gallery. (Generally this will be a 70-30 split) *note Pronto! is a financial sponsor of the gallery. They do not earn any revenue though the sale of your work) You are able to set the price of your work! Should a piece not sell it will be returned to you at the end of the showing.

Important for everyone to understand. The gallery is in a lounge space between an active restaurant and bar space. This gives us a great opportunity for our community to experience our work, but also exposes our work to the potential for damage or theft. The gallery is not constantly staffed, however, it is under continuous video surveillance. This means that there is a risk of artwork being damaged or stolen. With that said your artwork is insured and you will be compensated in the event of loss. Reach out to us directly for full details.
